Overview
21st Century finance and banking
requires practitioners to have a thorough understanding of
the cash flow performance of businesses and the skills to
carry out thorough financial analysis. Traditional measures
are too easily distorted by “creative accounting”.
We teach a powerful blend of ratio
plus cash flow analysis from which to understand financial
performance and then carry out credit assessment, equity analysis
or valuation, as required.
Outline Content
- Review of the main accounting statements
- Accounting principles, creative accounting
- Use of balance sheet and profit and
loss
- Ratio analysis of performance and financial
structure
- Cash flow analysis, sustainability
- Credit and equity perspectives
- Integrating the analysis
Educational Note
We abhor traditional ratio analysis!
We teach financial analysis by starting with the key issues
and then showing how to use a few selected ratios together
with a carefully-crafted cash-flow statement to develop understanding;
simple and very powerful!
