Flexing a plan
Selecting "Analysis" then "Scenarios
and Sensitivities" will display the screen shown, in part,
below:
A drop down menu offers a choice between four scenario names with the instruction
to "Select a scenario name then Load, Apply or Save":
Association Case
Base Case
Best Case
Worst Case
After selecting a name eg "Association Case", which
won't be the normal starting point, the Sensitivities and Scenarios menu offers
the following:
Scenario Manager
Load Scenarios
Apply Selected Scenario
Save Scenario
Show Sensitivities
Selecting "Load Scenario" will populate the Input
section of the screen.
You can now manually change any of the designated input variables
across the 30-year forecast period on the Scenarios and Sensitivities Inputs
screen.
It is important then to change the case name to match the changed assumptions
of the new scenario. Select eg "Base Case" then
select "Save Scenario."
Selecting "Apply Selected Scenario" will apply the
changed set of assumptions to the existing association case and revise the
forecast business plan. The detailed results can now be viewed via the standard
Analysis menu.
Selecting "Show Sensitivities" will recalculate
the model using any or all of the saved scenarios and capture key outputs in
the Scenario Outputs section shown below.
“Show Sensitivities” must be selected to refresh the outputs
if any changes are made to the scenario input variables. In addition to changing
variables manually, selecting "Scenario Manager" allows
you to change pre-determined input variables in a systematic way via a simplified,
standardised routine using a “wizard”.
This Scenario and Sensitivity Manager enables you to select either the "General
Assumptions" sheet or any of the nine Social housing property-based
business streams.
Selecting "General Assumptions" enables you to change
any of the nine designated macro-economic variables, each by a given percentage.
Selecting "Housing Accommodation" (or any of the
business stream sheets) enables you to change any of two designated development
variables by a given percentage or to re-set the grant level.
